Agent FAQ
Overview
This page answers common questions for agents, property representatives, and professionals who help property owners sell or rent listings without necessarily owning the properties themselves.
Common Questions
I do not own a property. Can I still benefit from Shelting?
Yes. Shelting is designed for property owners, sellers, and people who help owners market and manage property transactions. If you have a relationship with an owner or a network that can help sell or rent a property, you can use Shelting to collaborate with the owner and help manage related leads.
How can I collaborate with a property owner?
If the seller uses Shelting, ask the owner to send you a collaboration invitation or collaboration request for the listing. After you have access, you can communicate with the owner through the collaboration platform.
What information can I discuss with the owner?
Through the collaboration area, you can communicate about the listing and request the property information you need, such as site maps, locations, layouts, documents, and clarifications that the owner chooses to share.
Can I help the owner generate and manage leads?
Yes. You can use the Create Lead form to add leads related to the listing and help the owner maintain them in the Workspace. This makes it easier for the owner and collaborators to manage the people interested in the property.
Does Shelting record my contribution to a listing?
Your collaboration and lead activity can provide a record of your involvement in helping the owner work toward a transaction outcome. The information available in the Workspace depends on the actions taken and the access provided for the listing.
Can I earn a commission through Shelting?
Shelting can support professionals who work with owners on property transactions, but any commission depends on the agreement between you and the property owner or other parties involved. Shelting does not guarantee a commission or set the terms of that agreement.
How can this help me work with more property owners?
By collaborating on listings, helping owners manage leads, and maintaining your property-related work in one Workspace, you can build experience and a record of your involvement. This may help you connect with additional homeowners or rental property owners, subject to your professional relationships and agreements.
